Hands on ETHNOdELIC [2016]

18 Jahre nach der Auflösung von ETHNOdELIC – der Band, in der ich als Lead-Vocalist, Keyboarder und Songwriter aktiv war – kam es zu einem Wiedersehen mit unserem damaligen Bassisten. Viel Zeit war ins Land gegangen, wir hatten uns musikalisch weiterentwickelt und auch die Studiotechnik bot inzwischen ganz andere Möglichkeiten als Mitte der Neunzigerjahre. Aus einer spontanen Laune heraus entstand die Idee, das alte Material noch einmal neu anzupacken, frei nach dem Motto: „Wenn es nichts mehr zu covern gibt, covert man sich eben selbst.“ Das Ergebnis ist dieses Minialbum mit fünf Neuauflagen echter ETHNOdELIC-Klassiker: zwei Songs aus dem Album „of Confidence & Belief“ (1994) und drei Songs aus „Lost in Space“ (1996).

Eighteen years after the breakup of ETHNOdELIC—the band in which I was the lead vocalist, keyboardist, and songwriter—I had a reunion with our former bassist. A lot of time had passed, we had developed musically, and studio technology now offered completely different possibilities than in the mid-1990s. On a spontaneous whim, the idea arose to revisit the old material, based on the motto: “When there’s nothing left to cover, you cover yourself.” The result is this mini-album with five reissues of genuine ETHNOdELIC classics: two songs from the album “of Confidence & Belief” (1994) and three songs from “Lost in Space” (1996).
